Powering the State Health Operations Centre Emergency Response

Opra Projects was contracted to develop the new State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) in Perth, WA. They engaged Cablewise to help complete this project. SHOC is aimed to enhance emergency care access by integrating the WA health system with other emergency services.

Challenges Faced by Our Client

The State Health Operations Centre required a technologically advanced infrastructure within a six-month timeframe and tight budget. This involved a complete fit-out of Level 3 (1600 sqm) and Level 10 (1350 sqm), demanding seamless communication and data flow for 24/7 operations.

Objectives

The updating of the State Health Operations Centre centred some key objectives:

  • Cross-Connect Frame Complexity: Over 1,000 cables required precise organisation. We used structured cable management techniques for seamless installation.
  • System Tie Cables: 500 cables needed alignment. Efficient planning ensured structured alignment, minimising errors.
  • UPS Installation: Close collaboration with vendors ensured timely completion to meet tight timeframes.

Outcomes Achieved

The project successfully delivered state-of-the-art infrastructure, meeting the State Health Operations Centre’s needs. The client expressed satisfaction with the high-quality work and efficient implementation. This project demonstrated the importance of detailed planning and quality execution in complex technical infrastructure projects. Our expertise in structured cabling, fibre optics, electrical systems, and lighting enabled us to overcome challenges and deliver a robust solution. The SHOC fit-out showcases our ability to deliver high-quality technical solutions in demanding environments. By prioritising planning and quality, we provided a reliable infrastructure for critical emergency operations.

Outcomes Achieved
