Renascent, a leading Australian construction company known for managing complex projects in live, sensitive environments, was tasked with a critical project for St John Ambulance. This undertaking was fundamental to maintaining and enhancing essential emergency and health services across Western Australia. The inherent complexity of the project, combined with St John Ambulance’s vital operational requirements, presented significant challenges.

St John Ambulance’s primary concern was the successful, timely, and budget-compliant delivery of a project directly impacting their life-saving services. Delays or budget overruns could have serious consequences. The challenge was executing extensive construction and fit-out works within an active environment without disrupting critical operations. This demanded strict adherence to timelines, meticulous planning to avoid interruptions, and implementing robust long-term solutions. • Ensure high-quality, integrated solutions: Implement robust and reliable electrical, lighting, communications, and AV systems supporting St John Ambulance’s diverse operational needs.

Solutions Implemented

Our team, ranging from 6 to 12 personnel on site, included a Project Manager, Site Manager, supervisor, and skilled apprentices, ensuring efficient operations and adaptability. A key aspect of our approach was the careful selection of trusted and reputable vendors to ensure the highest quality and reliability of all installed systems. Our solution encompassed several critical components: we implemented Molex structured cabling systems for a high-speed, future-proof network infrastructure essential for St John Ambulance’s critical data and communication needs, ensuring seamless connectivity across all areas. For the electrical backbone, we installed NRP switchboards, known for their high-quality, durable, and safe distribution solutions, critical for powering St John Ambulance’s diverse operations and the new carpark.

Furthermore, a bespoke Mondoluce lighting solution was designed and installed, creating an efficient and visually impactful environment tailored to each area, from workstations to the museum and café, ensuring energy efficiency and enhanced aesthetics. To ensure safety and regulatory compliance, we integrated Clevertronics lighting for all emergency requirements, providing dependable and compliant solutions vital for a public-facing facility. The project spanned a 12-month duration, beginning with internal demolition, leading to the fit-out of a modern St John Ambulance facility. This included a Museum, Shop, Café, multiple Training Rooms, Meeting Rooms, private Consultation Rooms and large open areas for the St John Ambulance Operational Support Hub. A new carpark with lighting was also constructed to supportSt John Ambulance’s growth. Our ability to deliver these complex solutions while maintaining St John Ambulance’s critical operations highlights our meticulous planning, skilled execution, and proactive communication.
