Liontown Resources Limited, an ASX100 company based in West Perth, Western Australia, is a key player in the battery minerals sector. With a strategic focus on lithium deposits, Liontown controls two significant projects: Kathleen Valley in the northern goldfields and Buldania in the eastern goldfields.

Challenges Faced by our client

As a growing player in the battery minerals industry, Liontown Resources recognised the need to upgrade and enhance its infrastructure to support its expanding operations. The company faced challenges related to outdated facilities, inadequate lighting, and the need for an improved communication and data system.


  • Upgrade front-of-house areas with feature lighting for a more modern and welcoming environment.
  • Enhance power, communication, and data infrastructure for improved operational efficiency.
  • Modify and expand the existing KNX Intelligent Lighting Control System.
  • Install new emergency and exit fittings for increased safety.
  • Implement a robust and scalable communication and data-structured cabling system.
  • Integrate a reliable uninterruptible power supply (UPS) solution to safeguard critical equipment.

Solution Implemented

To address these challenges and achieve the stated objectives, Liontown Resources undertook a comprehensive infrastructure enhancement project. The following solutions were implemented:

  • Feature Lighting Installation: Supply and installation of aesthetically pleasing feature lighting in all front-of-house areas, enhancing the overall ambiance.
  • Power, Comms, and Data Upgrade: Upgrade of power, communication, and data infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency across the organisation.
  • KNX Intelligent Lighting System Expansion: Modifications and additional works were carried out to expand the existing KNX Intelligent Lighting Control System, providing better control and energy efficiency.
  • Emergency and Exit Fittings: Supply and installation of new emergency and exit fittings to comply with safety standards and ensure a secure working environment.
  • Communication and Data System Upgrade: Supply and installation of a state-of-the-art Siemon Cat 6A F/UTP communication and data structured cabling system, enhancing connectivity and data transfer capabilities.
  • UPS Implementation: Supply and installation of a Rack-mounted 5kVA UPS to safeguard critical equipment against power interruptions.

Outcomes Achieved

The infrastructure enhancement project resulted in several positive outcomes for Liontown Resources:
